List 10 things you know to be absolutely certain.
I spend my time questioning things a lot. I overthink and I tend to observe more than I saw. I understand motivation and emotion from a psychological and biological level and behaviour is always observable in contrast to someone’s feelings which can be hidden. In saying that, I know the next 10 things to be absolutely certain (my science friends will know that only falsification is possible and you can never prove anything, but these things are based on my personal observations so true in my little bubble):

1. Birthday cake will always leak the calories when you cut it.
If you cut it into pieces after blowing out the candles, the calories leak out and you get to eat cake guilt free. Win win 🤷♀️

2. People can say one thing but their behaviour says they cannot be trusted.
If someone says they’re turning their life around, but they happily substantiate their drug habit and blame their ex on not being able to see their kids, then perhaps it’s not at all the exes fault? 🤷♀️

3. Putting up an awning tent on your own is doable but not recommended.
It was mid summer on the NSW coast and the heat at night was real. Not one person in that caravan park helped me but I got it up with a few swear words and a lot of sweat. I also found a huntsman spider the next day but I got him, and it is far easier to pack down on ones own instead of erecting in the first place. 🤷♀️

4. Most turtles never grow up to be ninjas.
It is highly unlikely that a can of toxic waste will turn a turtle into a teenage human-sized ninja with a pizza fetish. They’re more likely to stay their true size and eat bugs. 🤷♀️

5. You are more likely to see armour move in a haunted house versus a crepe restaurant.
Haunted houses always love giving people a jump scare but restaurants generally want people to be relaxed and enjoy their food. I’m glad armour didn’t take a sword slice at me during this late night snack with Addi in Brisbane. I was already a little tense from taking her walking at night but glad the pancake manor is very very busy. Who wants a jump scare at midnight when snacking? 🤷♀️

6. You can tell when someone is an entitled prick by their driving behaviour.
When you’re taking a wet and winding road easy and the jeep driver behind you is speeding up and slowing down because you’re messing up their fun fast car cruise, you know nothing good will come out of it. Some people feel entitled to their “rights” and will not consider anyone else or the consequences of their actions. Frequently jeep drivers. 🤷♀️

7. Tom does not like travelling at all.
Our cat has never liked travelling but on a good day wandering around at home, he will yell at you if you don’t pay him attention or feed him. The plane ride must have been bad as he was very cranky when he finally got to Canberra. We did have sedatives to give him but the company said not too. Poor cat. 🤷♀️

8. You have to preplan or flat pack when installing an entire tram into a hotel.
This building may have had the tram craned in before the room went on, or placed there before building (but flooring already there?), or taken in piece by tiny piece. Either way it happened, it’s a magical place to put a tram and the wine bar the the Tradies Club in Dixon is one of my ultimate spots to go. Perhaps it’s not the tram at all, but merely the cheese platters that sucker me in. 🤷♀️

9. Congee definitely makes you feel better when you’ve got a cold or flu.
The rice is slow cooked to perfection and adding spring onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, etc from your garden will help you immensely with taste, comfort, and healing properties. If you are sick enough to eat congee, perhaps you should have a ginger detox bath as well. 🤷♀️

10. If you’ve got a couple of loyal animals, you will always be loved and snuggled up to, especially in winter.
These three are the most kindest, caring group of animals I’ve met. Everyone needs an animal as a support and to give as much love as they do, you can never be lonely. I love my animals and I’m pretty sure my animals love me.
Thanks for reading this far. For now I leave you with this quote:
